Kerry began her real estate career in Seattle, Washington in 1976.
In 1980, she sold all 31 lots in a new subdivision to several small builders. She developed the entire marketing program and managed the project from ground breaking to the sale of the final house. Many of their new buyers had homes to sell, and she listed and sold several of those as well.
Out of 60-plus agents in her firm, she consistently won Top Agent awards. During this time, mortgage interest rates rose from about 8% to over 20%, so she also had to learn a lot about creative financing!
In 1981, her husband was approached by a Seattle computer dealer to open a satellite store in Alaska. Who could resist such an adventure? Certainly not them, so they moved. In 1984, they bought a ComputerLand franchise.
As its president, her responsibilities included administration, finance and marketing. They grew to two stores and 75 employees, and were recognized as one of the country's top dealers.
In 1983, they "retired" to North Carolina so her husband could pursue his interest in Winston Cup racing. They bought a mini-farm where They have a horse, 2 potbellied pigs and 2 cats.
Retirement was fun and the animals are great, but Kerry needed a challenge. She earned her North Carolina real estate sales license in 1997 and her Broker's license in June, 1999. She has been listing and selling property in Rowan County ever since. And, her husband Mike got his Contractor's license and went back into the building business.
As a charter member of the Key Real Estate team, Kerry is excited about the opportunities that the new company offers.
